Hannah's Story

Training and Development Coach, Hannah, began her career with us as a Care Worker. Keen to progress and hungry for knowledge, she completed numerous specialist training courses over a number of years, and when an opportunity arose to become part of the branch team she decided to give it a go…

“I progressed through the Care Co-ordinator role with bespoke training and excellent mentoring from experienced coordinators. Working in the office environment I was hearing and seeing other roles, how they worked, what they did etc, which is when a position opened for a Field Care Supervisor. I had my interview and got the role.

Again, I had great in-house training and mentoring which never stopped, and over the years of being Field Care Supervisor my knowledge and experience grew. I jumped at any training that was available and ended up with numerous qualifications to support me to grow and progress.

I started to support senior management who saw something in me I didn’t realise I had; the passion, knowledge, experience and drive to better myself and come up with new ideas for the business. This is when I further progressed into a senior role as Quality Assurance Officer. This role allowed me to take everything I’d learnt over the years and apply it, benefitting Home Support Matters, and supporting the whole team to ensure they had the knowledge, understanding and opportunities I’ve had to grow as a person.

My new role as Training Development Coach came as a surprise. I’d never have imagined myself as a trainer, however I’m where I am today thanks to the amazing support of all of my Home Support Matters colleagues who believed in me and helped me to grow, train and support our business. I thrive to be the best I can, my thoughts are heard, and I love my job. Teamwork is everything and this is proven by my progression through the business over the years.”
