Who we are

Home Support Matters provides care and support that enables individuals to live their life the way they choose, supporting an individual’s physical, emotional, social, cultural, spiritual, financial, and environmental wellbeing.

  • The most talked about benefit of a career in care, mentioned by our employees, is how fulfilling it is.

  • Everyday, you help someone in need, making their lives that little bit easier.

  • Knowing that you have made a difference to someone’s day provides a real sense of achievement that’s difficult to experience in any other role.

At Home Support Matters care and support worker training is our key focus to ensure we continue to deliver high quality care provision.

We are an approved healthcare supplier to the NHS, and with both Norfolk and Suffolk local authorities.

Over the past 30 years we have developed good working relationships with local social work and community health teams.

Home Support Matters is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) which means any profits made are retained by the CIC and reinvested back into the services we provide or the local community.

Our History

Home Support Matters started in the market town of Beccles in 1991 in conjunction with the NHS and Community Care Act 1990. The Act was the first major reform of the NHS since it began in 1948 and gave local authorities responsibility for the community care for older people.

Initially known as Dominoes Home and Personal Care, our aim was to match services to meet people’s needs in the local community. The business was bought by Allied Healthcare in 1997 and being part of a national Health and Social Care company worked well for us. We enjoyed the support of a large umbrella company but retained the feel of a locally run business with strong links to our communities in Suffolk and Norfolk.

In 2018, the business separated from Allied Healthcare and became Home Support Matters CIC, going back to its roots as a local company, now part of the Independence Matters Group.

Our Care Delivery Director, Su Carver, has been with the business since its inception in 1991 and has provided continuity throughout the many changes. Home Support Matters currently employs over 200 staff members across a diverse range of care and support service roles and continues to operate throughout the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk.

  • I love working for Home Support Matters, every day I make a difference to people’s lives and it’s very rewarding. My hard work never goes unnoticed, and I’m always being praised by both customers and branch colleagues. I’ve come so far in such a short amount of time with all the training and support from other colleagues in the field.
