Welcome Zaliha Williamson - A Note From Our New Managing Director!

Here I sit on my first day….. and yet not my first day!

I must admit it is rather strange to be chatting with Sarah at the end of last week and then starting this week as your Managing Director.

Those who have met me, hello again from my new role and those who I have not yet had the pleasure, I look forward to meeting you!

 So, who am I?

I have a work background of financial and business management and over the last 30 years have experienced several different sectors from Food manufacturing to Charity sector to now the care sector. The sectors I have enjoyed the most by far are the charity and care sector because they have people at the heart of them. However, all those sectors are challenging when it comes to finances and therefore, I have managed through some very difficult circumstances and enjoyed every minute due to the people I worked with.

But who are you really, I ask you say?

I am a wife to Keith and mum to Molly 😊 Molly just turned 16 last week and is sitting her GCSEs in 6 weeks. Those of you going through and been through that scenario will know how stressful it feels in this household at the moment with hormones and revising stress going on …. And that’s just me. 🤣🤣

I like to think that I am an open-hearted, honest individual with a strong moral compass. I am passionate about helping other to continuously improve. I love watching musicals, gardening and colouring!

I am aware that I have very big shoes to fill as Sarah has been the heartbeat of Independence Matters, I am honoured to have been given the opportunity and will strive to ensure that the values of IM and HSM are maintained.

After a short period of reset with the leadership team in April, I look forward to getting out to visit you all in May. In the meantime, feel free to drop me a line or just say Hi! and when you see me by all means let’s chat ….. those that know me already will tell you just say the word Molly and my chatterbox will be off ! 😊

  • I enjoyed my induction training, everyone on the course was really nice, Hannah and Fiona were lovely and are brilliant trainers.

  • I love working for Home Support Matters, every day I make a difference to people’s lives and it’s very rewarding. My hard work never goes unnoticed, and I’m always being praised by both customers and branch colleagues. I’ve come so far in such a short amount of time with all the training and support from other colleagues in the field.
Danielle M, Great Yarmouth Care Worker
  • It's a huge responsibility, supporting a customer when they are at their most vulnerable. But you’re part of a team of skilled colleagues, and with advice just a phone call away, you’re never alone and you know that you are making a positive improvement to people's lives.
    Ian R, Lowestoft Care Worker
  • I love working for Home Support Matters as we help so many people that need help in their own home and enable them to remain independent. I love how it makes me feel and I know I make a difference to the people we help.
Kerry-Anne B, Great Yarmouth Care Worker
  • It’s a rewarding job looking after people in your local community delivering a good service for Home Support Matters.
    Angela K, Lowestoft Care Worker
  • I love working for Home Support Matters. I’ve been here a year and I’ve already progressed in my job, moving from Care Worker to Care Co-ordinator in the short time I’ve been here. Colleagues are all friendly, helpful and very supportive.
    Emma Y, Care Coordinator
  • I haven’t been happier than since I started working here, I’ve found my passion in helping others and it’s been an incredible experience ever since! It’s such a lovely team to work with, management values the employees and the training is brilliant. We get to go to different places and experience new working environments, meet new people and it’s simply great.
Cheryl B, Great Yarmouth Care Worker
  • Having only worked for Home Support Matters for two months now, the support and help I've received from colleagues at head office and the front-line carers I've had the pleasure of working with has been so incredible and made me feel so welcome to the company.
